The Loretto Volunteer Program pairs volunteers with social justice organizations for a formative, stipended year of service. Through meaningful work and communal living, volunteers live out the Loretto Community's mission to work for justice and act for peace - guided by the core values of social justice, community, simplicity and spirituality. The Loretto Community is an order of Catholic sisters and lay co-members. Applicants of all faiths, races, classes, gender identities/expressions, sexual orientations, and abilities are welcome into this justice-seeking community. Work at Bread for the City Bread for the City is one of the placement sites where Loretto Volunteers work. The volunteer will also help with Spanish-speaking clients in all of Bread for the City's programs. A great position for those interested in law school and/or with paralegal experience! Soon the Loretto Community will gather for their Assembly in St. Louis where they will celebrate 25 Years of Loretto Volunteers and look toward the future of the Program. Please consider showing the Community your support for the Loretto Volunteer Program by making a gift to our first ever alumnae giving campaign. By participating, you will do great things: you will grow the Program’s capacity to support young adults, and you will show the Loretto Community that we alums are committed to continuing their mission in the world! Check out our fundraising page and consider making a donation to the program we know and love between today and July 12th - when Loretto Community Assembly commences! |
