Who We Are
Imagine a world in which justice and peace prevail—because impelled by the Gospel,
we, in concert with others, have worked for justice and acted for peace.
Loretto volunteers seek ways to make these words, adapted from Loretto’s Constitutions I am the Way, a reality in their lives—both in the work they do and in the way they live their lives during their volunteer experience. Some volunteers choose to work in an area of direct service while others prefer to work directly for social change.
Volunteers generally live with one another. Occasionally they live with Loretto Community members or with another volunteer community.
During their term of service, volunteers may be immersed in Loretto history, tradition, spirituality, mission, and hospitality.
The Loretto Community is grateful to these volunteers who have been willing to devote a period of their lives to working for a more just and peaceful world within the Loreto spirit and tradition.
